All Cubs, All Packs Events

Hello Scouters,

Our roundtable staff is looking for ideas on what all of
our Cub Scout Packs (37 total) could do together for
events and activities for Cub Scouts of all ages and not
just for Webelos?

We have had the following types of events so far:

1) Pinewood Derby Race (all Cubs)
2) Cubmobile Race (all Cubs)
3) Klondike Derby (Webelos Only)
4) Webelos Camporee (Webelos Only)
5) Scout Show (all Cubs and Boy Scouts)
6) Bowl-A-Thon (all Cubs and Boy Scouts)

But we are looking for something NEW that all Cubs,
in all Packs could enjoy together to build more Pack
and Council spirit.

What events have you done for Cubs of all ages, including Tigers?

What worked well for you?

What didn't work well?

Some ideas we have briefly discussed are:

1) A Cub Scout FAMILY Camporee in the spring. This requires
an adult to accompany their Cub to camp overnight ("Family
Camping" requirement for boys younger than Webelos). There
is a lot of interest in this one.

2) A Cub Scout Roller Skating party.

3) A Cub Scout Belt Loop Olympics, where boys earn belt-loops.

4) A Cub Scout National Park tour. The City of Lowell is a
home for one of our National Parks.

Please e-mail me PRIVATELY <axtman@castle.drc.com> with your
ideas, so others can go on with their other discussions. I
will compile the ideas into one list and offer them to the
group when I have them ready.

I'd like to thank all of you for your help in advance.

Best In Scouting,

Richard Axtman
