An introduction and a request

When we first subscribed to Scout-L, it was with the intent that we =
would quietly listen and learn. Without question, we have learned a =
great deal already and the experience and expertise is being greatly =
appreciated. However, the time has come to introduce ourselves because =
we must ask the list participants for a favor.
First, the introduction:
We are Stephen (Steve) and Sally Stoffel. I am the brand new (in other =
words, very green) District Vice Chair - Program, Arapahoe District, =
Longs Peak Council. Prior to this position my only direct Scouting =
involvement was as a Cub and Scout (Life) many years ago. Sally is the =
new Cubmaster of Pack 78, Boulder, Colorado. She is also just =
completing seven years as a Den and Webelos leader. Our oldest son, =
Jeff, 12, advances to Star next month and participated in the National =
Order of the Arrow Conf. this summer. Our youngest son, Tom, 10, is a =
2nd year Webelo and can't wait to bridge in February.
Now that you know all about us, here is the favor:
For those of us who are new to many parts of Scouting, all these =
acronyms just don't mean anything. I find myself trying to figure out =
what a string of initials must mean so that the rest of the message will =
make some sense. I certainly realize that many of them are well known =
and that I SHOULD know what they mean. It would be really helpful for =
us greenhorns if everyone would be careful about those acronyms until =
they have been defined once in each e-mail.
There, now that I have disclosed my level of ignorance, I will go back =
to being a silent bystander!
Regards and Thanks,
Steve Stoffel, stevemcs@qca.com
