"Webelos"

George Taylor (73740.247@COMPUSERVE.COM)
Fri, 30 Aug 1996 22:00:30 EDT

Mike suggested "WEBELOS" all in capitals, and using "Webelos Cub
Scouts" and never "Webelos Scouts." Look at the "WEBELOS Scout Book"
though -- the cover uses capitals but no "Cub". In the book itself
they refer to "Webelos Scouts." So "Webelos Scouts" must be correct.
Well, no, I shouldn't say that, but it must be okay anyhow, being as
it seems to be the official term.

He also mentioned that Webelos boys attend events with the troop
they plan to join. Around here, they often go with whatever troop
fits their schedule and is a candidate troop for them. That makes it
easier to get the activities in, and lets them see the troops. Many
of our packs are not affiliated with troops, so the boys go to any
troop they choose; I like it when a den goes to a troop together, but
you know how troops have different "personalities" and a troop that is
just right for one boy may not be the best one for another boy.
