I suppose if you have a *large* Troop you might need 2 ASPLs. However I can
see problems if things aren't spelled out very carefully. If the SPL is not
present which one is in charge? (This can be serious; I know two "adult"
women who have not spoken in close to 20 years because their boss did not
designate which one was in charge when she was on vacation).

Why risk the problems it could cause. Give one of them a different job.
Personally I like Instructor. The job description is so vague that it could
be almost anything. Or what about a Scoutmaster-assigned leadership
project? This could also be almost anything.

This looks like both suggestions & criticism; I guess a Scoutmaster will
dare almost anything.
