"steaming" about school nite

Kim Moye (kmoye@SPDMAIL.SPD.DSCCC.COM)
Wed, 14 Aug 1996 12:08:12 -0500

okay, i need to vent..so please bear with me. i have been working on school
nite for about 3 monts. got the newsletter approved to send out the week
of school nite. got funny (imho) overhead to drive home parental involvement.
got my key people in place.....i don't have a room! my de books all the
schools in my area for school nite for scouting. he informed me that the
school is already booked for that night! he has arranged a "compromise"
so we can have the cafeteria from 7-8pm. school nite has never been completed
in an hour! even without a presentation...i can't do it! i told him that
last year i signed up 27 boys at school nite. that's about two minutes per
boy/parent to sign-up, write check, and get organized into dens. not to
mention the 10 other boys that joined the following week! my unit commissioner
(bless his heart!) has offered to help get me more adults, i don't see how
that will solve my time problem.

i'll work it out, but i'm really angry that all my hard work to have the most
successful school nite ever is at risk because this feel thru the cracks.
you can bet next year (regardless of him telling me not to worry about
booking that date), i'll take care of it myself.
