There is silver and mercury in film, neither of which you want to ingest.

When you use them for this purpose, push the canister in to the cup in
the center of a spray can cover for added stability.

They are also great for holding small parts. I have several of them for
Pinewood derby, Spare axles in one, weights in another, screws, etc.

Also use them as first aid kits, put sealed band-aids, etc, inside them.
Watertight and compact. Also store matches to keep them dry. There are
many uses for these canisters, but food use is not one of them.
