I'm in a quandry aqnd I need your advice. My wife and I are the CC and
Advisor of a very successful gen'l interest explorer post. The post is pretty
much youth run and is going very well. However I have a problem.
When I was working with the Troop, we never really had much trouble getting
parent involvement and staffing the outings. We would easily round up the 4 -
6 we needed to make 2-deep leadership really work. I guess I got spoiled. In
the Post the kids are older and the parents are much less inclined to get
involved. Some of my kids are 18+ - You know - that funny age where ther are
youths in exploring and ASM's in scouting?
How many adults do I really need. These kids mostly drive and do many things
without parental supervision. Am I out of touch by truing to keep at least 4
adults at the outings????
