Abusive parents

Rod Keen (Rod@GAIASYS.DEMON.CO.UK)

Why? Oh why? Oh why?
Do we as Leaders do we have to put up with parents that (rarely) have a
brain cell between their ears? Yesterday eve (wed) our district had a
swimmers badge testing session. OK it had been raining during the day and
the time getting on (8:15 ish) and the water wasn't heated as much as it
should have been BUT.... one of the testers (a parent) suddenly dumped his
clipboard on me and started giving me alot of verbal about having the kids
doing the swimmers badge in weather like this. (i later found out that HIS
son had just been taken out because he couldn't go on) I then told him to
not to blame me as I was just a tester also but go and have word with the
organiser. I could see he didn't like that 'cause he turned 'round and
stomped back to me with fists clenched and said he would (eventually) dump
me in the pool. I managed to get the "man" calmed down only to see him about
5 mins later with his son getting cold having a go at other testers. WAP!

I really didn't need that. anyway I just thought that I'd get it off my
chest.

YIS
