Around the World in Eighty Days

This Autumn, or Fall to American subscribers :-) , cubs in the UK are
celebrating the 80th anniversary of Cub Scouting. The theme for the
celebrations is "Around the World in Eighty Days". As part of this
event, I would like to make contact with Cub Packs in as many parts
of the world as possible. It seems from reading the list for only a
few weeks that many countries are represented by subscribers.

My idea is that Packs would send postcards, or write letters, to
other participating packs and to receive similar correspondence from
all around the world. These would then be displayed in Pack
headquarters to illustrate the "World-wide Brotherhood of Scouts". I
am prepared to build up a list of interested Packs, including their
snail mail addresses, which could then be E-Mailed around the world
to those Packs on an agreed date. This would mean that Packs can send
and receive their correspondence over a relatively short time period.

The UK celebration is planned for September 28th to December 16th so
I suggest that the activity would start during September. I realise
that this is some way off but I would like to have everything planned
before the summer holidays (our pack does not meet in August).

If you are interested in participating in this please E-Mail me with
your details, and indeed any suggestions you may have about the
contents of the correspondence. I will keep the list posted on
progress.
