Ladies,
Not particularly fond of the yellow/blue combination? Neither am I! But, I
wear it anyways. Why? Because it is the national policy. I am the
cubmaster, I am supposed to set an example for the pack. I CANNOT set that
example by disregarding policy and deciding for myself what uniform I am
going to wear. Cub Scout colors are Blue & Gold. Those are the colors of
my uniform.
My council office does not keep a large supply of adult uniforms in stock.
So, we have to order everything, anyways. I am nearly 6' tall. And, I'll
admit that the yellow blouse is a bit short waisted. But, I run into that
problem with nearly all my clothes, I've learned to adjust by now. Women
aren't supposed to be as tall as I am. Society does not expect to have
women as tall as I am, and therefore I have to adjust to many things.
I look deathly ill in yellow. I hate how it the shirt is quite see through,
and short. I'm not fond of the navy color of the pants. But, despite all
that, I wear my uniform proudly. I am the cubmaster. It is a very
DIFFICULT job. I work hard for my pack. And, I like to think I do a good
job. Wearing this uniform is part of my job. I only have to wear it for a
few hours a month. It's not going to hurt me to do so.
