Mark,

Take it from a National Park Service Ranger who wears a straw campaign hat
while on duty suring hte summer, stick with the felt, it is much more
comfortable. The straw swells much more than the leather hat band and on a
bad day you end up woth a blistering headache.

Other than that I also prefer the campaign hat to the baseball cap for most
conditions.
