Good idea! We have seen that done with shock cord also.

I have made new tinker-toys out of cpvc pipe and a hand drill....I wound up
whittling one out of an oak branch at the '89 Jamboree ("Honest Mr. Thorpe,
we really did put it in the bag at the end of the training weekend...")
<g>.

We keep a couple of spare tinker-toys in our tent maint kit (along with a
bull-durham bag of zipper pulls <g>).

I wonder if anyone has a solution for the tendency of the extender poles
(short lengths that extend the ridge pole beyond the tinker-toys) to wallow
out at their base over the years. I would think that a compression tool of
some type (cable connectors?) could resize the base so that it fits tightly
again. Has anyone done such a thing?

y'all come,
Charlie II
