Evette,
I assume (oh oh) that your son is in your den and is a Wolf Cub Scout.
Even though he will be old enough to work on the Parvuli Dei next year,
unless he is a mature third grader, I would suggest he wait until he is in
4th grade. The Parvuli Dei book has not been rewritten (yet) and is to old
for most younger Cub Scouts, that's why they changed the program and
introduced Light of Christ for Tigers and Wolves. My husband and I ran the
program for the base chapel at two duty stations. If your son does decide
to go ahead with the program next year, be prepared to help him and
encourage him to stay active in the church. The next level, Ad Altare Dei,
won't be available to him until he is 12 or 13 and takes SIX MONTHS!
The first reply you got was correct; one knot as a youth with multiple
pins (if you can keep track of them between washes). I've never seen a
Scout with two Cub level pins, but I guess that's what he would get. I'll
have to check on that one for my own information.
Congratulations to your son, and good luck.
