..used to be.....

Jim,

Thank you for your question. We very often ASSUME that everyone on the net
understands our "initial and titling" and of course that is not true.

...used to be... Is a phrase from our Woodbadge program (advanced adult
leader training); of which there are Boy Scout leader woodbadge; Cub Scout
TRAINERS woodbadge; there is also LDS Woodbadge; we held Varsity Woodbadge
at least once that I know about; and have also held Explorer Woodbadge.

See our publication, The History of Woodbadge" for a more complte
understanding. The 'critters' listed and the year stand for:

critter - name of your WOODBADGE patrol or den
number - region, chronological number, of the woodbadge course.

Thus -- my CS Trainers woodbadge number is EC-CS-02 - meaning:

EC = East Central (the past name of our Scouting region)
CS = Cub Scout (trainers woodbadge)
02 - 2nd course held.

Ny 'critter' for the above is Antelope (my den name).

My BS woodbadge number if EC215W - meaning:

EC = East Central region
215 = 215th course held
W = weekend course (as opposed to a week long, which my CS woodbadge was).

My 'critter' for BS Woodbadge is Eagle (my patrol name).

Hope this helps. I highly recommend the History of Woodbadge book, it is
really chuck full of interesting info!
