Scott Killen (SKILLEN@AUTOTESTER.COM)

I went on a camping trip this weekend and had an
amusing experience I'd like to share.

While making one of my frequent Scoutmaster rounds
of the boys camp I came upon a bunch of 1st year
scouts playing with matches on a pile of dirt.

Immediately they showed some concern that they were
going to get into trouble.

They were having a blast, and there was no tender within
several feet of their location so I cautioned them against
burned fingers and let them continue. (I told them it
would be ME that got into trouble if I brought them home
with burned fingers.)

Anyway, as soon as they realized that it was ok, one of the
boys approached me and asked: "Mr. Killen, if you cut
the corners off the Totem' chit, do you burn the corners
off the fireman's chit?"

I suppressed a laugh and told him no. I could imagine
his disappointment. It almost seemed that he was
ready to volunteer to burn the corners of his own or
another's card.
