Re: (was Nameplates) jamboree staff opportunities?

Contact your Council Office and ask for a Jamboree National Staff
Application. They are or soon will be available. Fill out the form and
indicate whether you would prefer a subcamp or a regional or a national
staff position. If you request subcamp/regional, your form will be
considered by the region for positions they need to fill, then if you are
not selected, your form will be forwarded to National. If you specify
National only, your form will go directly to National for consideration
of the positions you have indicated a preference for. It is a good idea
to attach a resume to your application, even though it does not ask for
one, since this will give the selection committees a better idea of your
experience and qualifications than you can list on the one-page
application form. The earlier you get in your application, the more
likely you are to be selected for a position of your choice. Youth staff
positions are available at all levels from subcamp to National, and their
fees will be about half of the national fee (now estimated to be about
$425 for adults and half that for youth staff). Be sure to return the
application and resume to your Scout Executive to have him sign off on it
and send it in. All applicants have to be approved by the Scout
Executive and in some cases by the Council Jamboree Committee.

You may also want to subscribe to the Jamboree newsgroup, and look at the
1997 Jamboree home page. There is a lot of good discussion about the
Jamboree going on through the bulletin board and home page. If you have
a net browser, enter 1997 National Scout Jamboree to get the home page,
and the subscription information for the bulletin board.
