The former edition of the Boy Scout Manual spoke of patrol campouts without
adults. It never occurred to me to look for similar suggestions in the newer
edition. Would be a clue to the meaning of "patrol activities" as it relates
to overnight.
Personally, I think it is a good idea with certain limits, like the
availability of emergency services and notification. I definitely would
insist on approving the entire well-planned plan.
