Re: uniform while traveling

We usually travel in t-shirts while in the car, with the uniform shirts
folded stacked in the back window. We put them on when we come to a porgram
stop. This keeps the uniforms "fresher" longer. This is especially
important on long tours.

On one occasion we were traveling the speed of the flow of traffic in a
western state where the road is flat and straight. Helicopter radar was
used by the state patrol with a road block ahead flagging vehicles over
to be ticketed. I was traveling with a station wagon and another adult
with a pick up truck. We were traveling together at the exact same speed.

I was wearing a t-shirt, my uniform shirt was folded up in the back of the
car, the other adult didn't bother with taking his shirt on and off, he
just wore his uniform shirt all the time.

He was waved on through, I was waved over and given the opportunity to
make a $70.00 donation to the Kansas State Police.

Wearing khaki does have it's advantages.
