Here's one example of checking sources. The insignia guide is the "Official"
source of information and you should use it as your reference, not Mike Walton.
The last quoted paragraph explains why. Seems to me Mike should check his
"sources" first, then make the post. I can't say for certain, but I believe
there was a batch of "incorrect" AOL knots made with red and green threads
reversed. Perhaps someone who has the whole story can share it with the list.
