First, give each den or kid a banana with the instructions that he is to
name it and give it a personality by drawing on it with markers - face,
beard, hair, etc ... Next explain that a terrible disease is running rampant
among all bananas and that it is up to each kid to save his banana by
performing a heart transplant. Give each kids or team a small candy heart
(valentines), a butter knife and needle and thread. Explain that they will
be judged on the success of the operation, the neatness of the incision and
the quality of the sticthes. This can be a lot of fun if you ham it up with
sound effects (beeping heart monitor), lights, gloves, etc ...
