Adult membership/ spousal abuse

Robert C Flipse (flipse@PHILLY.NOSC.MIL)

Hi again folks!

I thank you all for answering - and perhaps should elaborate a little ..

I feel that the problems at Camp have been accurately relayed to me,
and I intend to "do my best" to have the actual witnesses to those events
relay them to Council.

I know that our SE held a meeting at Council yesterday and stated
that he intended to have this particular man as the Camp Director next
summer. (Could be difficult if he is convicted before then ..) This
weekend is an OA weekend at Camp, and he will be present and advising Scouts.

I personally do not know this man well, but have met few who do and
like him except the SE. I cannot believe that there are people out there who
would not see that the boys KNOW what is going on, KNOW what rules we ask
them and ourselves to live by, and KNOW that abuse, be it of them or a
spouse is not right, and not a good example of what we tell them should be
their role models for life.

{Our Council has an excellent reputation and a great Reservation,
but this is the second Camp Director that the SE has protected well beyond
the point where the man should have been removed. The first arrived with
him as a Council professional employee, and to the best of my knowledge is
no longer involved in Scouting.}

Thanks for listening again ..

April
