Funny, I don't know any buffaloes (and we have a lot in our district) who
can sing in the first place.
As to your other problem, looks like you'll get to practice the concepts
they will teach you a lot sooner that you thought. You have a good start
with your chips (lead by example). You might also look into "guided
discovery" to get them to loosen up and get them to see how such things
could be fun as well as how they might be able to use it in their units.
BTW, I was in the 2/8 Cav (Mustangs) and we had the Mustang Chip award
which went to the officer who commited the most infamous faux pas (such
as the S4 (logistics officer) who ran his jeep out of gas) since the last
social gathering (all in good humor, of course). You might consider the
same approach with your chips.
