The Baltimore Area Council's camp, Broad Creek Memorial Scout
reservation has for years allowed Scouts who perform all
required tasks to complete all requirements for the
Environmental Science Merit Badge during a weeks
stint at camp. I have acted as Scoutmaster for out troop
on a number of instances at summer camp and find that the Scouts
perform ALL of the necessary requirements. I'll admit that
I discourage the younger Scouts from trying this merit badge
until they're older. It's hard for them to have the discipline
to sit quietly for the required periods much less compose the
necessary essay.
