Hi Gang!
I finally get back here in town, and the first thing Jessi tells me
is "you have to respond to Scouts-L...Kim Hannermann has really
slammed you!"
So, here I am. Kim, I mailed your Eagletips package in a bright
red/white/blue USPS Priority Mail box two weeks ago. I will resend
another package to you, making it a grand total of two complete sets, in
the morning and *this time*, I am attaching a "return receipt card" to it,
so please fill it out (even though you do NOT like paper!)
Jessica says I shouldn't send you another copy because the first one
placed us in the hole (we charged $25 for it, and the printing came to
$18.25 and the postage another $4. This means that we make only $2.75
for each set of Eagletips produced) but I'm going to anyway, even if
it means that I have to borrow $25 to do it. When you get it, please
let me know. If you have two copies, just share one with someone else
and don't bother returning it.
Two others have been sent refund checks (and in one case, a patch)
along with a personal letter. I will be sending one more out, closing
out the first patch run (there's a second patch run coming in
October, in which those holders of "I'll take mine first" cards can
exchange them for their new flaps).
The past four months has been extremely stressful for me and my
splintered family here. Besides doing the Army's bidding for the past
two months, off and on, I've also had to endure my youngest child
being placed in a mental health facility against my personal wishes.
I've also had to endure some rather "choicy" comments and actions from
members of my own family as well as from a very vindictive former
spouse against me and my present spouse. I was almost in court twice
during the past four months and may have to go to court next month for
pulling my youngest son's ear in getting him to behave and not spawl
out in a major department store.
I've gotten so far behind in email that I've deleted everything I've
had on my account from the second week of May to last month (well over
3000 messages). There's simply no way for one person to read that
much mail in only two days (that's all of the leave time I have left).
My next set of days-off will be in three weeks.
When Jessica and I started Blackeagle Services, we had $125 in savings
and a wish to do the very best we can in whatever we decided to take
on. We didn't count on two things to happen: one, the overwhelming
demand of Scouters wanting good, insightful and diversified
information; and two, the lack of two people struggling to work two
jobs each in meeting their demands. I'm not going to speak for
Jessiann, but for me, I've failed some of you (including Kim) in that
objective. I can only offer my apologies and meet you head-on and
get the problem solved.
I can tell you that we've haven't "taken your money and ran". At the
end of each of my postings, is my home and office phone number, as
well as our fax number. If you or anyone else had problems with
anything we've sold or offered, the numbers connect here to the
trailer where we live. We don't have a fulltime staff, nor do we have
a secretarial pool...we run everything on an extremely tight
shoestring (which Jessica will NOT write a check until there's money
there to write against; I would, but that's why she's the business
person and I'm not). A simple phone call even at three in the morning
would have solved much of this.
Others have called and we've solved or met their needs that way.
Gladly.
We will continue to operate, albeit a little better once October gets
here (we are using the month of September to get everything pending
cleared out, as well as to allow ourselves a little more of a cushion
for future projects. And there will be future projects). In the
meantime, I've wrote Kim separately and ask that he please send the
USPS card back as soon as possible. I will track the other package
down because I spent the four dollars on getting it in the mail.
Finally, I hope that Kim's dissatification with what we do here is not
also dissatification with me as a person or as a a resource. As many
of you here can attest to, when I send something your way, you usually
get it as soon as I can get it out (or printed, or copied). Like many
of you, I don't have immediate access to a copier machine and must
wait for my next small payday in order to get the things copied and
mailed your way. By having to perform various "Hey You!" projects,
driving back and forth between towns, and at the same time ensuring
that I have a job to come back to (not to mention the wear and tear on
a newlywed marriage), can place a strain on the pocketbook to the
point of almost giving in.
I did that once, and I'll never do that again, gang. If I've slighted
ANYONE in the smallest way, please accept my polite apology and please
call me and we will get things straight. I also offer, as I've done
for Kim and others, our tollfree number here (1-800-816-6746) and ask
you to call it if presents a problem to call me the other way.
Settummanque!
