One solution for making a Scout feel less embarassed if he wets his
sleeping bag is to make a custom of having Scouts air out their sleeping bags
each morning. If the whole patrol or troop is airing out their sleeping back
then you will not single out an individual. You may start by airing out your
own on each campout and the Scouts will mimic you.
Another solution might be to discuss this with the Scout's parents and
encourage them to see their physician. There is a drug called DDAVP which is
taken as a nasal spray, is safe and extremely effective. This is a good drug
for sporadic use such as on campouts.
The main drawback is the cost. Ask some of your local doctors, many may have
samples that they would give to a Scout.
