I suggest that the person's unit commissioner be asked to return to
commissioner training. Boy Scouts makes RECOMMENDATIONS on uniforms and
holds all rights and OWNS the patches you "lease" on the uniforms. But
a unit's COMMITTEE determines what uniform the unit wears (PERIOD). It is
a unit commissioners job to lead by example and conduct a uniform inspection.
He or she may not say that your uniform is forbidden but may then tell the
unit committee that their uniforms fall outside of the guidelines.
It never ceases to amaze how some people can automatically become pedantic
if given any kind of bureaucratic job or even a hint of authority.
