ADD Resources

The message that Michael Pagelkopf posted regarding the ADD information and
resources is near and dear to both of our hearts. I am the Scoutmaster of
Troop that has 3 known ADDr's and at least 1 possible yet to be diagnosed
ADDer. I myself have been diagnosed and receiving treatment for ADD.
One thing that seems to be prevalent in messages/threads regarding ADD is that
everyone would like to have more information about what ADD is and is not, how
do others work with ADD children, Scouts, and Scouters, and does National have
any information about ADD and Scouting.
Since my wife (Troop Committee Chair and Unit Commissioner) and myself are
getting ready for Wood Badge in 16 days, the subject of developing a
guidebook/pamphlet/training materials on ADD and Scouting might be a good
ticket item.
Patty (my wife) suggested that I poll the electronic roundtable for your
input. Is there a need for more information on ADD? What information would
Scouters like to see? Who would use this information. We feel that based on
the questions we have seen, any information that we could gather would be of
great benefit to the Scouting community.
Neither of us claim to be experts in ADD. We are not doctors of any type (MD,
Ph.D., Witch). We only try to use our resources to the best of our abilities
in the best way we can.
Please let us know what you think, e-mail your responses to me at
morlovsk@earth.execpc.com or via Scouts-L. Wood Badgers, is this ticket item
too ambitious? What else can we do?
Thanks for input.
YiS,
Mark
