Jay...Are you out of your mind? I for one still think that the
Scouts were started to teach skills used to save lives and to help a
person survive in the wilds. Go back and look to see what Baden
thought and why he started the whole movement. Firemanship for an
alt. for Eagle, no way.... Go all the way and let Basketry count.
IMHO...Drop family life and make pioneering or wilderness survival
required. Most of the badges on the list are set to go along with
hobbies or some fun skill. Learning masonry or electronics is neat
and fun, but should they count towards Eagle. I think not.
Bring back Orienteering and Nature. Scouts is a camping and hiking
organization and should stay that way.
