Females at camp

From my understanding of the camping rules, there is no restriction
that a woman must have her husband along (what about single mothers)
or another woman as a chaperone.

From my reading of the requirements, the only restriction is that a
woman may only share sleeping quarters with another woman or her
husband.

Therefore, in cabin camping, there would need to be a seperate
sleeping area for the woman or women. Depending on council
interpretation, this may be a seperate room or as we have often done,
a closed of area created with blankets when only 1 large room was
available. This policy seems to vary by camp and ranger.

When tent camping, the woman or women must have her (their) own tent
if not sharing a tent with her husband.

The restriction of having husband or another woman along would seem
to be blatent discrimination against single mothers, particularly if
she were the only woman leader.

When we go camping with the troop, my wife and I share a tent, and
the one other female leader, a single mother, uses her own tent. If
we are cabin camping, she and my wife share the women's room or build
one from blankets.

The only requirement I know of for requireing a second female is in
venture or explorer groups where there are female youth members,
there must be as least 1 female adult.

As for the wives at home, suggest that:

1. They come along, because you ARE going.
2. You would be too tired to seduce their hubbies.
3. You wouldn't want their hubbies if they are that insecure.
