(Re)Introduction

TALBERT (talbert@NETEAST.COM)
Wed, 5 Jul 1995 23:10:00 -0400

Hello people of Scouts-L. You may remember me. I was on the list a
few months ago and apparently my subscription was cancelled when there
were mail problems with my server. I am back now, and at a new
address, talbert@neteast.com. My former address was talbert@us.net and
it still works, I just decided to relocate Scouts-L to this address.
Here is some information about me to refresh your memories. You can
find much more information about me on my WWW page, listed in my
signature.

I joined the Boy Scouts of America way back when I was in second or
third grade. Tiger Cubs did not exist back then, to my knowledge,
so I was a Cub Scout, going all the way from Bobcat to Webelo (we
were the last one-year Webelo den) in Pack 291 of Travilah
Elementary School, North Potomac, MD.

After I earned my Arrow of Light, I went on into Boy Scouts with
Troop 773 of Potomac United Methodist Church, Potomac, MD in 1989.
I earned the rank of First Class within my first year of scouting,
just as the new requirement sets were being initiated. I then
worked my way through the upper ranks of scouting, earning my Star
in 1992 (taking my time) and my Life in 1993. I am currently
working toward my eagle, for which I need one merit badge and my
eagle project, which is about to get under way. I am 16 years old.

I have held the positions of Patrol Leader, Quartermaster, Troop
Guide, and now, Chaplain's Aide, over my scouting years. I
attended the Impeesa junior leadership training week of summer camp
in 1992. I have attended Goshen Scout Camps (Olmsted and Bowman)
every year since I joined the Boy Scouts. This year we attended
Camp Bowman and I acted as Senior Patrol Leader. I am pleased to
say that my troop ended up as the honor troop of the week, out of
all the other troops in camp. We did a lot of hard work, but we
had fun too! That's about it for now - I'm enjoying the 1994-1995
scouting year!
