Additional Training

Well I made it through a week of Wood Badge, very high heat and lots of
Red Bugs
but otherwise none the worse for wear. If I understand it right, my course
SR-119
was the first Southern Region course to follow the new syllabus. I really
think that the reflection process has a real future in scouting, and I hope
to help lead the process in my area. My council just held their W.B. course
and it was under the old syllabus, so I guess I'm the first volunteer in my
Council to get invovled in this.

Today, I am looking for information for further training. First for my son
I am trying to find a week-long Junior Leader Training Conference course.
Hopefully there is one in S.E. sometime. I really would like to find a
course for him so he can try and get a grasp on the Reflection so as to help
in implementing it to the Troops in our Council.

Also, as a part of my ticket I am looking for a Commissioner Basic course
to be held in the S.E. sometime between now and this fall. My council has
these courses on a very limited basis and after my out of council experience
on Wood Badge, I would look foward to going to other places and getting to
know Scouters from outside my home.
