My fellow Scouters,
There has been alot of correspondence on what is a true Eagle.
Well I am a proud Father of a Eagle. My Son started scouting when
he was a Tiger Cub Scout back in 1984. Just 2 years ago he received
his Eagle. His Court of honor was a special court whereas there was
162 in attendance, family members traveled from 3 furthest part of
the U.S. to attend. It was a outdoor court of honor and Our son had
all but 2 boys participating in the ceremony total of 28,along with two
other Troops helping too. His Cousin a Eagle Scout flew in from
California to give our son, Peter his Eagle Charge. There was Eagle's
there that have been a Eagle
for 60 years that stood up and helped with the Eagle Charge. The
Charge that Peter continues to live by today.. After the Court of
honor Peter came up to me and said Pop now I know what it feels
like to be a Eagle. All his hard work and support made him walk
that trail starting off in size 5 1/2 shoes but making it to the
top in size 15 shoes.<grin>

Well Peter has been working at a summer camp for the last 5 years
this year he will be turning 18 years old.(Please note ever since
his 1st year Webelos he has never had his birthday at home always
at a camp.)(I think he liked that)

I know that this is alot to ask all you Scouters around the world
but I thought since this is his last year as a boy at a Boy Scout
Camp that he would receive Scouting Birthday wishes from all of
you.

continues to work with the Troop and District.

Thank all of you for keeping the Spirit of Scouting Alive for our
Boys.
