Service Stars/attendance award
Our pack awards service stars to the Webelos 2 in our March pack meeting as
they graduate the pack (we also present these boys their Arrow of Light award
and bridge those that are going into a Boy Scout Troop).
The remainder of the pack receive their stars (boys and Scouters) at our
April meeting (which is the last for our charter year). At that meeting, we
"advance" the pack. Webelos 1 receive their patrol name and patch (and become
Webelos 2). These boys present the former Bears with their Webelos
neckerchiefs and slides, who in turn give Bear neckerchiefs to the former
Wolves. We then graduate and bridge the Tigers into our pack (they receive
their Wolf neckerchiefs and Cub slides). After the ceremonies, the den
leaders distribute the appropriate star to the boys).
You might try recycling your stars. Since the boys are only allowed to wear
one star for Tiger and one for years in Cub Scouts, your older boys will have
extra (esp. 1 & 2 year). If you have a large pack, this can save you some
money over the years.
