2nd Year Webelos

In an earlier post it was said that when the 1st year Webelos are presented
with their neckerchiefs and slides; that they present the 2nd year Webelos
with a copy of the BSA handbook.
In your opinion - which would be better - the handbook or the field guide.
The reason stated was to foster interest in the future program. (yes I have
been reading the thread on Webelos transition)
