A trail through the Appalachian Mountains? There are gazillions of trails, but
you must mean the Appalachian Trail, 2,1500 miles from Georgia to Maine.
Troop 46, Radford Virginia has the great luck to "live" within easy driving dist
ance of the trail and it is the major focus of our hiking and camping and backpa
cking trips. It is GREAT!
For information:
Appalachian Trail Conference (the headquarters)
P.O. Box 807
Harper's Ferry, W. Va. 25425
(304) 535-6331
They can sell maps and guidebooks for all sections of the trail as well as many
other items of interest to hikers in the area.
