While time is short (your departure 4/1) why not check with your local Council
Office and see if they can contact the International Division of the BSA in
Dallas. If your Council recommends and if time allows, the Intl Div can issue
an International Letter of Introduction (a sort of world Scouting passport).
They will generally provide you with a contact name at your destination. I
have done this on several occassions overseas and been welcomed graciously in
the spirit of Scouting. -- You may not have enough lead time, but it is
certainly worth a try.
