Alan,
No apology necessary. I tend to agree that the District Camporee better
serves the local troops, but remember that part of the purpose of this "game"
called Council Camporee (or, in the days of my youth, "Camporall") is to
allow a social outlet and a comparison of the units from other districts
within the Council.
The larger grouping gives the flavor of a "Jamboree" without the lavish
expense and logistical nightmares associated with the national or world
event.
