Chris,
Sometimes you have to be patient and play the game. Join the committee
or staff for a particular event and get to know the people. You may find an
ally. Try steering by questioning, suggesting, and maybe volunteering to
take on one of those suggestions. Let them get to know you and gain their
confidence. Work your way into a position of influence. Don't give up.
