I too am a nineteen yearold eagle scout and now serve my troop as an
assistant scout master. When I reached my eighteenth birthday, I replaced
my SPL pacth with the assistant Scout master patch and replaced the Eagle
Path with the Knot.
I did not earn the Eagle Scout so that younger scouts will know that I
have it. The experance and knowledge obtained while cliaming the ranks are
more important then any peice of cloth. My suggestion to you, take off
your eagle patch, and use the experance you gained to set an example for
others in your troop. Being an Eagle Scout carries a great responcibility,
younger scouts look up to you because they want to to be an Eagle someday
too. Do want to send them the message that rules were made to be broken, I
am sure that is not what you learned earning your high rank.
