Re: "OA is a joke"

We are very lucky that many of our scouters contribute
an extrodinary amount of time to the OA. The OA
maintains our 2 main camps (Wannocksett, Split Rock)
and it is that service that binds them together.

Our Scouter also puts on HUGE shows and was involved in
the last production in Indiana. Steve lives the excitement
of the OA which makes our scouts "REALLY" want to be OA members.

The election is actually a very tense night (I wish it wasn't
and don't know how to solve this!) There are many good kids
who are excited but it may be a year or two before they get elected.

Steve gives them different opportunities to be of service
especially being on stage SOOOO we get excited boys
doing a lot of good service.

OA around here is excitement, not a joke.

I do know many years back though, the lodge was pretty
much down and out. AN individual made it clear to all
members that the OA=SERVICE and put the spark back in
and has brought it back, so it is never too late.
