They'll definitely be an asset to your troop. You get a different
point of view on how other countries do things. A good thing to do..

The best position for them would probably be JASM, I'd think. If they
want to work towards an Eagle, it is possible, apparently. Steve
Myers posted a while ago about a foreign exchange student in his
troop earning his Eagle while there. You'd probably want to talk to
someone at Council or something about that.. they don't have to
redo things, if they're interested in doing BSA badges.

I worked with a Scout troop from another organization this summer
as a guest ASM (they didn't distinguish between ASM & JASM). I
did not work on badges, as I should do that with my main organization,
which I am with throughout the year. I learned a lot about how they
work, though.
