Jim, I hope you meant First Class in the BSA as opposed to the former GSUSA
highest award when you said that it was lesser in standing than Eagle Scout.
If you meant otherwise, you were mistaken. Currently the highest GSUSA
award is the Gold Award, but when I was a youth, I earned First Class, and
believe me, it took every bit as much as earning Eagle. I am now a leader
of both genders of Scouts. I know what the requirements are.
