Re: Alternatives to Philmont

We also were "wait listed" for Philmont in '95. We are
in position 600 in the waiting list, so I don't have any
idea if we have a chance.

I am rather disappointed with the outcome and with the
new lottery system. We have been planning this trip since
the last time our troop went, three years ago. If we
cannot go in '95, some of our scouts will have missed
any chance to go as youth as part of the troop. They may
be able to get into a council contingent, but I don't think
that the experience is the same.

Fo anyone who is interested, were are running a backpacking
trip on Isle Royale this summer as a warm-up for Philmont. I
would be happy to share info with anyone who is interested.
