John, perhaps they see no value because Boys' Life is not a part of the
troop program. When was the last time BL was used at a troop meeting? When
was the last time a reference was made to "checking out the article on. . ."
in the last issue? If the troop uses BL, then the scouts will probably also
make use of it. Some time ago, there was an article on Kirby Puckett
(Minnesota Twins). Since a Twin's game was on our activity list, we shared
the article at the troop meeting before the game, and I was able to set up
a chance to say hi to him (I worked part-time at the Metrodome). After that
there was a lot more reference to BL in the troop!
