Troop 21 in Albuquerque NM annual budget looks something like this:
(46 boys and 15 registered adults)
Dues - $1.00 per week (budget for $50/yr)
Campouts $10.00 per month - 12 per year ($5/night, a little
more for camporees since we have to pay registration
fees)
Summer Camp $110
High Adventure $120 this year - 10 day canoe trip for older boys.
Dues covers registration, Boy's Life, insurance, program materials,
refreshments at Courts of Honor (cake and ice cream). Registered
adults are covered for these expenses out of troop operating funds.
We have a monthly Breakfast Burrito sale after Church one Sunday a
month, this rotates between patrols so each boy only has to
participate 2-3 times a year (boys buy the ingredients about $ 8.00 -
Troop can net $100 a month depending on how many boys in the patrol
remember to participate!). The Sponsoring church provides $500/yr.
Burrito sale money and the Church contribution are used to buy and
repair camping equipment.
One note - our #1 rule for parents is that no boy will be denied
participation in any event because of a lack of funds - usually there
is one or two boys that we approach special "friends" about to help
with Summer Camp Fees.
