Re: Cub vs. Webelos Dues

Our Pack has individual dues, just to help defray the cost of den activities,
this is set by the Den Leaders. We figure on kind of a cost sharing, yes the
Webleos and all their activity pins cost more, but most of them have been in
the Pack for awhile, so it all seems to work out. All awards come out of Pack
monies, we do fund raisers (which sometimes is the same as haveing the parents
pay extra dues 8^)). For such things as Webelos camping trips, we just bill
them directly, so it depends on how many show up as to the final price. We do
get a great turnout for camping. Even kids that barely make it to meetings.

We also do things like go to the Wisconsin Dells, water theme park Noah's Ark
for their Scout Day, for that we have all register scouters pay $5 and the rest
of the family members pay regular price (typically $12 for water park, + bus).

We did a bowl-a-thon last night, looking for $10 minimum in bids, we had 14 out
of 36 scouts attend. Boys bowled 3 lines and had a 150 pin minimum for pledge
purposes. This was a Council event, part of the money will pay the bowling
alley, than half will go to the Council and half will go to the Pack.

We've got just under an inch of wet snow here, beats the 8 inches in my hometown
75 miles to the north!
