I'm not familiar with the requirements set forth for other merit
badges (I'm a Wolf Den Leader), but the badge you proposed seems like a
very good idea! I would only add one thing (unless it is covered under
another merit badge) - on item 6, include that they must cook a specified
number of meals or a specified day's worth of meals. Finding out about
this kind of stuff gets me excited more & more excited about scouts!
