Under no circumstance is liquor permitted at any Scouting function here in
Crossroads of America Council - to the best of my knowledge. I enforce this
rule
with a vengance. I don't think that Scouters should even go into a bar with
their uniforms on and order alcohol. Please understand that if you want to
change to your civilian clothes, so will I and we will go have a beer together.
I do not object to having a drink , but I really stand firm with the "no
alcohol
at Scout functions" rule. There have been a number of times after a week at
summer camp with thirty over-energized Scouts that I needed more than one
beer,
but I waited until I got home and as I recall drank them all while soaking in
the bathtub.
I also understand that alcohol is permitted in other countries at Scouting
functions. This suprised me when I heard about it!
