Hello,
If any Quebec Rovers read this conference, let me first announce that, on
April 10th at 7:30 at the Scout Center, Dorval, Qc, a meeting of the QRRT will
be held with special guest Mister Ralf Ross.
Mister Ross sits on international committees, and is in charge of "Project
Loone". He will be attending the QRRT to speak on this topic, and share some
of his experiences with Rovers in Mexico.
Now, for everyone's interest. Project Loone is a project to get Scouts Canada
into the inner cities. So far, the Quebec Provincial Council has
brought many kids (I'd say over a 120) kids to summer camp, and out of the
inner cities. We have also established Cub packs and Venturer Companies
in some schools of Montreal.
The challenge is big. How do you offer a program to kids who can not afford
registration, uniforms, camp fees, ...
I would like to know if any other Scout organization has Similar PRojects.
Yours in Scouting,
