I once read (in Pascal--the philosopher not the programming language) a
wonderful line, a propos to this thread. At the end of a rather lengthy
letter, Pascal wrote
I'm sorry this letter is so long, but I didn't have time
to make it short.
Quantity is not a measure of quality, most of us would agree. Even if you
disagree, it's not a good strategy to tell everything you know!
For the sake of the quality of SCOUTS-L, make your contribution short ...
and then edit it down.
